Rapper Nicki Minaj is encouraging young Americans to participate in the 2026 midterm elections while making her own political preference clear, urging younger voters to support Republican candidates in November.
During an interview with Lara Trump on the program “My View with Lara Trump,” Minaj spoke directly to young Americans about the importance of participating in elections. She argued that younger voters should not assume their voices will be ignored and said their involvement is particularly important as the country approaches the Nov. 3 midterm elections.
“Now is not the time to think that your voice will not be heard,” Minaj said during the interview. She emphasized that voting gives citizens a say in decisions that can affect their communities and future.
The Grammy-nominated artist also encouraged young people to look beyond presidential elections and become involved in local contests. According to Minaj, political participation should extend to elections at different levels of government rather than being limited to choosing a president every four years.
“Think about how much you want a say in what happens and realize that the only way to have that is by voting — not just voting for the president, but just voting in all of the local elections,” she said.
