Cambodia Issues Official Report on Civilian Impact From 14 December Clashes

Phnom Penh, Cambodia — The Ministry of Interior of the Royal Government of Cambodia today released a formal report detailing the humanitarian toll and impact on civilian areas resulting from military actions attributed to the Thai armed forces between 7:00 AM and 1:00 PM on 14 December 2025. The statement, addressed to both national and international audiences, outlines casualties, injuries, and infrastructure damage in affected communities.

According to the report, as of 1:00 PM on 14 December, a total of 11 Cambodian civilians had been killed and a significant number suffered injuries during the first half of the day’s hostilities. These figures reflect the ongoing escalation along the disputed Cambodia–Thailand border, where both governments have accused each other of initiating or intensifying violence in recent days.

The Ministry stressed that the operations by the Thai military resulted in severe disruption to daily life in border areas, including damage to homes and community infrastructure, prompting widespread concern among local residents.

The release comes amid ongoing reports of clashes along the border. Both Cambodian and Thai authorities have publicly shared divergent narratives about the causes and conduct of recent hostilities, with each side asserting the legitimacy of their actions and attributing blame for civilian harm to the other. International media also report casualties and displacement on both sides, as well as diplomatic efforts to manage the crisis.

As the situation continues to evolve, the Cambodian government’s report serves as its official account of the civilian cost of the conflict on 14 December, underscoring the broader humanitarian impact on border communities
