RAC Urges Calm on Cambodia–Thailand Border

The Royal Academy of Cambodia (RAC) on Tuesday called for calm amid rising tensions along the Cambodia–Thailand border.

Yang Peou, RAC’s Secretary-General, stressed that the core of the dispute lies in the lack of agreement over the exact location of border markers.
He urged both countries to avoid hasty reactions and rely on facts before responding — highlighting the potential dangers of misinformation or provocative acts.

Yang emphasized that peaceful dialogue and mutual understanding remain the best path forward — rather than escalation.

He also called on the government and media to provide prompt, accurate information to the public, in order to prevent misunderstandings or panic.

In a tense atmosphere where border incidents have recently flared — including clashes and accusations of military provocations from both sides — the RAC’s appeal comes as a call for restraint, clarity, and calm reflection before action.
