Ariana Grande Issues ‘Loving Reminder’ to Fans Amid Body Scrutiny: ‘I Think It’s Dangerous’
Los Angeles — Ariana Grande has issued a heartfelt message to fans, urging them to reconsider commenting on others’ appearances amid growing body shaming on social media.
In a post on Instagram, the pop star reshared a video from 2024, where she opened up about the pressures of body scrutiny she’s faced throughout her career. Grande, who has been in the public eye since she was 17, acknowledged the toll constant criticism takes on a person’s mental health.

“I’ve heard every version of it, what’s wrong with me. You fix one thing, and it’s wrong for a different reason,” Grande shared in the video. “It’s uncomfortable no matter where it happens, whether at Thanksgiving dinner or on a red carpet.”
She added that the ease with which people comment on others’ bodies and lives is troubling, calling it “dangerous” for all involved. “There’s a comfortability that we shouldn’t have at all. Commenting on people’s appearance or health—it’s harmful.”
Grande said she no longer allows such negativity to affect her. “I don’t invite it in anymore. I have work to do, friends to love, and so much love to give. It’s not welcome in my life.”
Despite the criticism, Grande remains focused on the positive. She recently celebrated the success of Wicked’s sequel, which broke records for Broadway adaptations. In a post to her fans, Grande reflected on her childhood love for Wicked and the joy of becoming Glinda the Good.
“Being part of this creative journey was the greatest gift of my life,” she wrote. “Seeing how the film has moved people has been the most meaningful gift of all.”
