Bad Bunny Wins Album of the Year at 2026 Grammy Awards
LOS ANGELES — Bad Bunny won album of the year at the 2026 Grammy Awards, making history as the first artist to receive the honor for a Spanish-language album.
The Puerto Rican superstar earned the award for “Debí Tirar Más Fotos,” a critically acclaimed project praised for its personal themes, cultural identity, and modern Latin sound. The win marks a major milestone for Latin music at the Grammy Awards, which have traditionally favored English-language albums in the top category.

Accepting the award in Spanish, Bad Bunny spoke proudly about his roots and the global reach of Puerto Rico.
“Puerto Rico is much bigger than people think,” he said, referencing the island’s size. “There is nothing we can’t achieve.”
He thanked the Recording Academy, his collaborators, and his family, including his mother. He then switched to English to dedicate the award to people who leave their home countries to pursue better opportunities.
“I want to dedicate this to everyone who had to leave their homeland to follow their dreams,” he said.
The award was presented by Harry Styles, who won album of the year in 2023. That same year, Bad Bunny was nominated for “Un Verano Sin Ti,” which became the first Spanish-language album ever nominated in the category but did not win.
Earlier during the 2026 ceremony, Bad Bunny also received the award for música urbana album, marking a strong night for the artist.
His album of the year victory closed the Grammys on a historic note and reflected the growing influence of Spanish-language music on the global stage.
