First “Spider-Noir” Poster Appears at CCXP

The excitement surrounding Brazil’s massive Comic-Con–style pop culture festival, CCXP, began early this year as one of the first major reveals surfaced ahead of the event’s official opening. A newly posted promotional image for Amazon Prime Video’s upcoming Spider-Noir series has begun circulating online, offering a first look at the project led by Oscar-winner Nicolas Cage.

The early teaser, shared by Omelete, displays striking noir-themed poster art and confirms a surprising detail: Cage’s character is officially named Ben Reilly, not a variant of Peter Parker as many had speculated. The confirmation signals a fresh direction for the franchise’s expanding Spider-Verse storytelling.

A Gritty Tale Set in 1930s New York

Spider-Noir follows the journey of an aging, down-on-his-luck private investigator in 1930s New York who must confront the shadows of his past life—one in which he secretly served as the city’s lone superhero. The project marks Cage’s return to the character he previously voiced in the 2018 animated hit Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, where his smoky, hardboiled delivery quickly made Spider-Man Noir a fan favorite.

Bringing the brooding, trench-coat-wearing vigilante into live action for the first time, the series leans into the genre’s pulpy roots while expanding the Spider-Man multiverse in a distinctly noir direction.

A Star-Packed Ensemble

The series assembles an impressive supporting cast. Lamorne Morris, Brendan Gleeson, and Lukas Haas join the lineup, alongside Li Jun Li, Jack Huston, Karen Rodriguez, Cameron Britton, Abraham Popoola, Cary Christopher, Michael Kostroff, Scott MacArthur, Joe Massingill, Whitney Rice, Amanda Schull, Andrew Caldwell, Amy Aquino, and Andrew Robinson.

The breadth of the ensemble underscores Amazon’s ambitions for the series as one of its flagship genre titles for the coming year.

Behind the Camera

The first two episodes are directed by Harry Bradbeer, best known for Enola Holmes and Fleabag. Bradbeer also serves as executive producer, working in collaboration with Spider-Verse architects Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, alongside veteran producer Amy Pascal.

Showrunning duties fall to Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot, both of whom bring experience from high-profile television projects and genre storytelling.

Coming Soon to Prime Video

Although Amazon has yet to announce the official premiere date, the streamer confirmed that Spider-Noir will debut sometime next year on Prime Video. With its atmospheric setting, stacked cast, and the return of Nicolas Cage in a beloved role—this time in live action—the series stands poised to become one of Amazon’s most anticipated releases of 2025.
