BREAKING: Hun Manet Condemns Thai Violence Against Cambodian Civilians in Prey Chan Village
Phnom Penh, Cambodia – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet strongly condemned the use of violence by Thai forces against Cambodian civilians in Prey Chan village on November 12, 2025. The attack left one Cambodian citizen dead and three others injured.
In his statement, Hun Manet denounced the violence, calling it a violation of human rights and against the spirit of peaceful border dispute resolution. He emphasized that such actions were in stark contrast to the spirit of cooperation both nations have worked toward, particularly through diplomatic efforts like the Joint Border Commission (JBC).

“This act of violence goes against the principles of humanity and the mutual respect we have agreed upon in resolving border issues,” Prime Minister Hun Manet said. “I call for the immediate cessation of all hostilities and for both sides to return to dialogue to peacefully settle our border dispute.”
The Cambodian leader also ordered urgent protective measures for civilians in affected border areas. He called for an independent investigation into the incident and appealed to international experts for assistance in uncovering the truth.
“We must ensure the safety and well-being of our people above all else,” Hun Manet added. “Cambodia remains committed to resolving this issue through peaceful means and upholding the principles agreed upon in the Kuala Lumpur Declaration signed in October 2025.”
