Real Madrid ‘Considering’ Selling Key Star to Man Utd as Record-Breaking Bid Prepared for Arsenal Target

Real Madrid are reportedly weighing up a surprise summer transfer that could see one of their most important defensive players move to Manchester United, while the Spanish giants are also said to be preparing a major bid for a Newcastle United star who is attracting interest from Arsenal.

Despite uncertainty surrounding the club’s long-term managerial direction, Real Madrid remain active behind the scenes as planning for the next transfer window gathers pace.

Los Blancos recently entered a transitional period following the departure of Xabi Alonso, with former defender Alvaro Arbeloa currently in charge on an interim basis. While questions remain over who will be appointed as the permanent head coach, club president Florentino Perez is already focused on strengthening the squad for the future.

Manchester United Linked With Shock Move for Eder Militao

According to reports from Spanish outlet Fichajes, Manchester United have identified Real Madrid centre-back Eder Militao as a priority defensive target and have allegedly submitted a formal offer to test Madrid’s resolve.

The report claims United have put forward a bid worth around €40 million (£34.7m), a move that has reportedly prompted internal discussions at the Bernabeu over whether Militao could be allowed to leave this summer.

Militao, 28, has been a key figure in Madrid’s defence when fully fit, but his recent seasons have been disrupted by serious injury setbacks. The Brazilian has suffered ACL injuries to both knees in recent years and is currently sidelined with a torn hamstring, limiting his availability during a crucial period.

When at full fitness, Militao is widely regarded as one of the best centre-backs in LaLiga and remains an important part of Madrid’s long-term plans, with his contract running until the summer of 2028.

For that reason, any potential exit would come as a surprise. However, the report suggests Madrid are at least open to listening, particularly as they assess their defensive options ahead of a busy rebuild phase.

That said, the claims should be treated with caution. Fichajes has previously been criticised for speculative reporting, and no other major outlets have corroborated the suggestion that United have formally approached Real Madrid.

Even if interest from Old Trafford is genuine, it appears unlikely Madrid would sanction Militao’s departure without first securing a suitable replacement.

Real Madrid Prepare Big Move for Newcastle’s Sandro Tonali

While questions linger over Militao’s future, Real Madrid are also being linked with a significant move in midfield.

Reports from Italy suggest Los Blancos are considering a major summer bid for Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tonali, who continues to attract strong interest across Europe.

The Italian international has been the subject of growing transfer speculation in recent weeks, with his representatives believed to have held informal talks with several top clubs.

TEAMtalk transfer insider Graeme Bailey has previously confirmed that Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea have all made contact with Tonali’s camp, underlining the level of interest in the former AC Milan star.

Now, Real Madrid have reportedly entered the race, with Italian sources claiming the Spanish giants are prepared to submit an initial offer exceeding €75 million.

If such a deal were to be completed, it would make Tonali the most expensive Italian footballer in history, surpassing the current record held by Mateo Retegui, who joined Al Qadsiah from Atalanta last summer for €68 million.

Tonali’s energy, tactical intelligence and ability to control midfield matches are understood to align closely with Madrid’s long-term vision as they look to refresh their engine room.

Liverpool Defender Also on Madrid’s Radar

In a further sign of Real Madrid’s wide-ranging transfer activity, Liverpool centre-back Ibrahima Konate is once again being linked with a move to the Spanish capital.

Reports suggest Madrid are in direct contact with Konate’s representatives to assess his situation, with the defender approaching the final stages of his contract at Anfield.

Liverpool are keen to secure the French international on a new long-term deal, but Madrid are said to be monitoring developments closely and could be ready to act should Konate become available on a free transfer.

With uncertainty across multiple positions and major decisions looming, Real Madrid’s summer plans are shaping up to be among the most closely watched in European football.

Whether Militao remains untouchable, Tonali becomes a record-breaking arrival, or Madrid strike opportunistically elsewhere, the coming months promise significant movement at the Bernabeu.
