Crispin Glover Sued by Woman Alleging Assault and Manipulation; Actor Denies Claims

Actor Crispin Glover, best known for his role in Back to the Future, is facing a lawsuit filed by a woman who accuses him of manipulation, physical assault and leaving her homeless after persuading her to move to Los Angeles.

Glover, through a representative, has categorically denied the allegations.

“Mr. Glover denies these baseless allegations in the strongest possible terms,” a spokesperson said in a statement. The representative added that on March 2, 2024, Glover was allegedly the victim of an “unprovoked felony assault” at his Los Angeles residence and that he contacted the Los Angeles Police Department. According to the statement, police responded, investigated and arrested the woman identified in the lawsuit as Jane Doe.

The representative further said Glover filed a restraining order against her and intends to “vigorously defend himself.”

Allegations Detailed in Lawsuit

In court documents, the woman claims she first connected with Glover through social media in 2015. She alleges that over several years he persistently encouraged her to relocate from Europe to California, promising professional opportunities and a new life in Hollywood.

According to the complaint, the two met in person in 2023 in Dresden, Germany. The woman alleges that during that visit, Glover displayed controversial memorabilia from his personal collection, which she describes in the filing.

Despite what she characterized as troubling behavior, the woman says she maintained contact because she believed he would help her secure work in the entertainment industry. In early 2024, she claims Glover offered her the chance to live in his Silver Lake home and work as his assistant.

The lawsuit alleges that Glover persuaded her to stop paying rent in Europe and sell her belongings before moving to Los Angeles. Upon arrival, she claims she realized he expected her to be both a live-in romantic partner and to work without pay.

March 2024 Incident

The complaint centers on an alleged confrontation on March 2, 2024, at Glover’s home.

The woman claims that after telling Glover she planned to leave the house to visit a mosque, he warned her she would be locked out if she did. She says she left anyway and returned to find herself unable to reenter the property.

According to the filing, her personal belongings and pets remained inside. She alleges that when she attempted to retrieve her cats, Glover physically attacked her, placing her in a headlock and choking her, resulting in visible injuries and a scar.

She further claims Glover contacted police and falsely accused her of being an unlawful intruder.

Law enforcement sources previously indicated that officers responded to an assault call at a Silver Lake residence on that date but did not confirm arrests in publicly available records. Glover’s representative, however, maintains that the actor was the victim and that official documentation supports his account.

Legal Fallout

The woman alleges that Glover subsequently sought and obtained a restraining order against her, causing what she describes as lasting damage to her career and reputation. She claims she remains homeless and emotionally distressed as a result of the events.

She is seeking damages in the lawsuit and is represented by attorney Dev Das of Geragos & Geragos, a high-profile Los Angeles law firm known for handling celebrity cases.

Glover’s representative said the actor is confident the judicial process will demonstrate that the lawsuit is without merit.

Case Ongoing

The claims have not been tested in court, and no findings have been made regarding the allegations. As the case proceeds, both sides appear prepared for a contentious legal battle.

For now, the dispute remains a matter for the courts, with sharply conflicting accounts of what occurred behind closed doors in March 2024.
